On Thursday, September 17th Ken Knott of Virginia Tech lead a panel of NMR facility managers, each of whom have recently installed equipment for helium recovery. The panel discussed their experiences of installation and operation using each of the three vendors, Quantum Design, Quantum Technology and Cryomech as well as some custom installation. With the price of helium rising quickly and with greater emphasis on conservation many facilities large and small are going this route. Join us for a discussion of this timely topic.
The panel included David Live of the University of Georgia and Chris Rithner of Colorado State with Quantum Design systems, Allen Kershaw of USC and James Aramani of CUNY with Quantum Technology and Kz Shein of the University of Arkansas with a Cryomech system he installed. Sarah Cady of Iowa State talked about tying into a physical plant recovery system.
