The topic of our round-table workshop on October 28, 2025, was A Quantum Inspired NMR Radio Frequency for Digital Health.
In recent years, it has been discovered that heterogeneous diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, hepatitis and cancer may be attacked effectively by developing specific treatment plans that are generally referred to as personalized treatments. This new approach in medicine involves using novel methodology as a bridge between diagnostic and therapeutic applications to form a single agent, allowing for diagnosis, drug delivery and treatment response monitoring at the molecular level. This method is time and cost effective because it is a one in all procedure which combines diagnosis and therapy. This novel methodology involving atomic nuclei could be studied with NMR/MRI since their unique resonant frequencies lead to the production of distinct spectra for diagnostic imaging. Atomic nuclei are quantum objects and most of their properties can be accurately explained only by resorting to quantum mechanical formulation. In this webinar, we have presented a new mathematical formulation for NMR spectrometer by solving the Bloch NMR flow equation quantum mechanically and obtaining the NMR transverse magnetization as a function of Hermite polynomials, Bessel functions, Hyper-geometric functions for detailed studies of processes taking place at molecular level in living tissues. The modeled NMR radio frequency can uniquely identify a patient or a tissue through the T1 and T2 relaxation times. The results from this study can be used to develop a portable MR imaging system by combining artificial intelligence with deep learning for digital health.
